It was our last day having the car and we didn’t excatly know where to go. The Receptionist from our hotel advised us to visit Paleochora and the hidden beach Kedrodasos.
This is almost the same direction as going to Elafonissi and we had the chance to buy local specialities from the roadside stands that we couldn’t see on the way to Retimno.
We bought few bottles of Cretan olive oil, rakija and the jar of orange jam. Everything was so delicious!
When we reached Paleochora we could start admiring the amazing color of the water and walking along the coast. The town is quite small but beautiful, worth visitting for sure.
The Recepionist warned us that reaching Kedrodasos is not so easy as there is no sign indicating the direction. The place is known mostly for local people, this is their place to relax in the high season. When we stopped to ask the encountered man for directions, he automatically said: „That way to Elafonissi” and was really surprised we didn’t want to go there :)
Finally we got the place… No comment needed, just admire :)
Just one suggestion – if you want to spend the day at Kedrodasos beach, take some food and water with you as there is no shop or restaurant nearby.
The place is really breathtaking :)
