Again we caught the ADO bus and went from Tulum to Valladolid (for one night) and then to Chichen Itza (also with ADO as the service is perfect). Although Valladolid is just 100 km away, there is the time change that we didn’t know about and our hotel was not ready yet ;) In that case we decided to visit Cenote Zaci and have some bath with fish in it.
We had a very pleasant evening in Valladolid eating pizza (yes, pizza in Mexico!) and churros in the nearby park. We booked an elegant 5-star hotel Meson del Marques and we paid only 53$ for a night.
On the next day, after the breakfast in the hotel restaurant, we took the bus to Chichen Itza – Mayan ruins.
As our return bus from Chichen Itza to Tulum (we left out lugagge in Tulum) was after 5 p.m., we had the whole day to spend in Maya city.
Chichen Itza should be on every „must see in Mexico” list as this is an evidence of the prehistory people knowledge about the world, art, architecture and mathematics. Such an incredible place!
After exploring the ruins we could also see cenotes that they are in the same area, eat lunch in the restaurant located next to the exit and buy some souvenirs. There are a lot of stands with different goods (backpacks, jewelry, figurines) between the ruins so it is very hard not to buy anything ;)
It was a great experience to see Valladolid and Chichen Itza. We would never forget it!
Next stop: Playa del Carmen
